2019 Holiday Message From Mind-Eye President:
Zemen Abebe
I would like to extend a heartfelt “THANK YOU” to all of you, our MEI team, for your hard work, dedication and support. As a mission-driven Institute with a campaign to provide advanced 21s t century care and “Leave 20/20 in the 20th Century,” serving our patients and their families is truly a gift.
As a leader, my journey consists of great mentors, the courage to be present here and now, the belief that I can help make a difference, everlasting hope, and a resilience to recover. I stand humbled and grateful for the opportunities I have had along the way and a support system that has kept me grounded. Throughout my career, I've seen dedicated caregivers working tirelessly to provide excellence and compassionate care, and I am most grateful to be part of an MEI team that has demonstrated both the desire and deep-rooted dedication to create an Institute worthy of the trust of the people we serve.
Our mission is clear – and clearly stated. We are committed to building MEI’s ability to reach out and transform the lives of millions of patients—children and adults—who suffer from lingering symptoms caused by brain injury or who struggle with autism, learning disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. Our goals can – and will be — achieved through expansion of innovative clinical work, including application of the latest discoveries in neuroscience and neurophotonics to classic optometric eye care; use of advanced technology; and ongoing collaborative research and study.
Our commitment to MEI’s future involves attracting intellectually curious, motivated and high-performing staff members; enriching our patients’ experience by providing them with excellent support during their journey to recovery; and continuing the advancement of neuro-optometric science and research.
I hope this holiday season brings you and your loved ones joy, peace, laughter and, above all, moments of reflection to appreciate each other and revel in what you have already achieved.
